KELOWNA - This weekend, a Vancouver-based production company is holding an open casting call for a film that promises to be filled with 90s nostalgia.Anthem is a film set in 1997 and the production company has announced a casting call for actors and volunteer extras. Sepia Films is hosting the casting call tomorrow, March 10 at the Grand Hotel from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.They are also combing the Okanagan for 90s themed props, gadgets, decor and vehicles for the set, according to a release from the Okanagan Film Commission. The items will be on loan to the company from March 27 to April 15.The independent film is called Anthem and based on Anthem of a Reluctant Prophet, a novel by Joanne Proulx.The film stars Cameron Monaghan and Peyton List. Monaghan played Ian Gallagher on the Showtime series Shameless. List is best known for her roles as Emma Ross on the Disney Channel series Jessie, and Holly Hills in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid movies."We are looking for Super Nintendos, boomboxes, N64s, tube TVs, VCRs, VHS cassettes, walkmans, cassette tapes, cable boxes, computers, posters and magazines," Okanagan film commissioner John Summerland says in the release.The company is asking anyone who is interested to submit a simple headshot, age, and availability between March 27 and April 15 to reluctantprophetcasting@gmail.com.This film is one of seven productions Sepia Films has brought to the Okanagan.
